Bamboo Ya/Sushi Ya is our go-to spot for sushi in Rego Park, and it never disappoints! Whether it's a casual date night or a family outing, this place hits the mark every time. The restaurant has plenty of seating, and there's always room for our stroller, which is a huge plus for parents. They also have high chairs available, making it a family-friendly option. The ambiance is laid-back, with TVs scattered throughout. The bar area typically has sports on, while the larger dining space often features the local news -- a nice touch if you want to stay updated. The staff often checks in with us and we feel welcome there. They are very nice and interact with my toddler often as they've seen her grow up over the last year as this is our go-to spot. Now for the food: we absolutely love their sushi. My wife is a big fan of the sexy salmon rolls, while I tend to go for rolls with eel. Both are fresh, flavorful, and always spot on. But the real star of the menu for us is the Duck Fried Rice. It's a must-order every time we visit. The flavor is unmatched, and honestly, it's the only place we even think to order duck fried rice. Their happy hour drinks are also a steal -- affordable and tasty, making it easy to treat yourself without breaking the bank. All in all, Bamboo Ya/Sushi Ya is a true gem in Rego Park. Great food, family-friendly setup, and unbeatable Duck Fried Rice!

I always find myself returning to this charming restaurant for its consistently delightful food and welcoming atmosphere. The service is impeccable, with attentive staff who ensure a pleasant dining experience every time. Whether you're craving sushi or a warm bowl of ramen, this place delivers on taste and quality. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine in a cozy setting!

Been coming here for year with my family. Great service, great vibes, food taste great every single time we come

The food tastes great. I like bird nest roll quite a lot. Soft shell crab is a great choice for appetizer. The golden dragon roll is ok. The tuna tower is unique and I'd recommend it. Service is fast and waiters are nice. The ambiance is really cool. There's some music playing in the background but not too noisy.

This is a pretty decent sushi place located in Rego Park, very close to the trains and to the mall area. It has a fairly large menu consisting of intricately named special rolls In addition to the usual maki rolls. There is ample seating inside, including some traditional style seats in booths where you need to take your shoes off, which I thought was kind of unique. My friend and I shared 3 rolls (1 regular and 2 special): Yellowtail scallion, Golden Tuna, Pink Lady. The favorite one being Pink Lady (Tuna, salmon, spicy kani, mix green, avocado, oshinko wrapped with soya bean paper and ikura on the top) which is light and refreshing due to no sushi rice inside. The prices are ok, like $12-16 per special roll and $6-7 for each regular roll. I would say the service was ok, but it did take them a bit to check in us at the end of our meal and give us the check since we were sitting at the innermost corner of the restaurant.
